Overview

For the client Schloss Wilhelmsburg Schmalkalden and the Stiftung Thüringer Schlösser und Gärten (STSG), a puzzle app was developed to help both adults and children discover fascinating details about the estate and the garden culture of past eras. The app combines interactive elements and educational content, offering an engaging way to explore the history and architecture of the castle grounds.

The Challenge

The task was to create a web-based game concept that would engage both children and adults, balancing fun and educational content. The challenge was to cater to diverse interests and abilities while ensuring the game was accessible, intuitive, and enjoyable across devices and platforms.

Research

The team and I visited Schloss Wilhelmsburg, meeting with its representatives to gather valuable content for the app. This on-site research and collaborative workshop shaped the game concept and ensured the app reflects the location's historical and cultural significance.

Design

I created wireframes to shape the game concept, then developed a design system based on the STSG's corporate identity guidelines. After final approval, the app's design was passed to the development team for coding and implementation.
